Caregiver Education

From The Heart- Dementia Informed Caregiving Series

A 5-Part Series for Developing Confidence in Caregiving

Caring for a loved one experiencing dementia or cognitive change can feel overwhelming. Families are often left trying to understand behaviours, manage daily challenges, and make decisions without clear guidance.

The From The Heart Dementia-Informed Caregiving Series was created to support caregivers with practical knowledge that helps them understand what is happening in the changing brain and how to respond in ways that promote calm, safety, and connection.

This five-part educational series introduces key concepts that help caregivers interpret behaviour, reduce distress, and create environments that support the remaining abilities of the person they care for.

Rather than focusing only on decline, this series helps caregivers recognize what abilities often remain, and how supportive approaches can preserve function, reduce overwhelm, and strengthen meaningful moments of connection.

Through clear explanations and practical examples, caregivers will gain insight into how the brain processes information differently in dementia, and how small adjustments in communication, environment, and daily routines can make caregiving feel more manageable.
